Your choice of material can have a massive impact on the look of your home. Below we have explained your options to help you make an informed decision.

Aluminium Bifold Doors…

Aluminium was the original material of choice for the first bifolds we were seeing in Europe and there is a reason the material is still the most popular.

We as a company have found that Aluminium Bifold doors have developed and kept up with the needs of the market. Making the frames thermally broken to help keep the heat in and the cold out, our bottom running systems allow for larger door panels to be used achieving more glass and therefore letting more light into your home.

I may have mentioned previously but over 97% of the doors we sell are Aluminium, here are a few reasons why…

  • Aluminium does not have the same problems with expansion as UPVC and Timber have.
  • Maximum door width of 1.2m (and in some cases we can do specially made doors even bigger!)
  • Simple to install with all parts being precision made.
  • Full range of weathered and non-weathered threshold options with external cills or without.
  • Multi point locking systems.
  • • 100’s of colour options available in Matt, Satin and Gloss.

Timber Bifold Doors…

For those of our customers with period homes and cottages required a natural product which suited their home…we can all imagine there are some homes that would just not suit a modern Aluminium Bifold door.

These German engineered bifold doors have been popular with many of our customers, although you must bear in mind being a natural product they will require up keep in the coming years.

A few points to take on board are…

  • Available in both Solid engineered softwood, hardwood or oak
  • A choice of paint or satin finishes and dual colours
  • A maximum pane width of 0.85m (smaller than the UPVC)
  • As it is a natural product it will need upkeep and repainting/ varnishing
  • Available in Secure by Design
